Chunk # 4 of Nickled and Dimed

Barbara Ehrenreich's self evaluation let's her realize things that she have accomplished as a low-income person. She found out that people are not paid enough for their work that they have done and that they should be paid more. She noticed how poor people are talked down on as if they were lazy, when in reality they are having one or two jobs to try and make it in this world. In the end of it all Barbara learns a lesson that you never take anyone for granted or you do not look down on them. She felt that she came through with her experiment and did exceptionally well.

Question:
Barbara felt that she was a good aspect to the low income world. Do you feel that she could have done better or could she have worked a little harder and made better descions?

Barbara made some pretty big mistakes and she didn't realize it until later. Do you think you would make those same mistakes if you were put in her shoes?

  1. To answer your first question, I do feel that she could have made some better decisions, especially with her job choices. As for her work habits, I feel that they could have only been better if she were working at those jobs for an extended amount of time.

  2. If I were places in Ehrenreich's shoes I believe that I would have made a numerous amount of mistakes.Whenever you take on new task you are always bound to make mistakes. I cannot say whether or not I would have done what she did but i do believe that I would have made some bad decsions .
